Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Glenreagh Public School. Our focus is student learning and ensuring all students are at the centre of all decision-making.  Students thrive by attending school regularly and engaging in learning to achieve the high expectations set by themselves and their teachers. There is equity for Aboriginal students in reading, numeracy, attendance and well-being.

Teachers have deep knowledge and understanding of the curriculum. They use effective explicit teaching practices that are evidence-based to respond to the needs of students. Teachers regularly collaborate to evaluate student assessment data and all aspects of their teaching practice to ensure they are meeting the learning needs of students. All staff display high expectations for success, including attendance, behaviour and achievement in reading and numeracy. Every staff member actively engages in quality professional learning to collaboratively improve reading and numeracy. Teachers create and maintain safe, inclusive and challenging learning environments and are sensitive to the needs of parents/carers. They communicate effectively about students’ learning.

The school has a strategic and planned approach to well-being processes for all students, so they connect, succeed, thrive and learn. Consistent school-wide practices for assessment are used to monitor, plan and report on student learning across the curriculum. Formative assessment is integrated into teaching practice in every classroom. Learning intentions and success criteria are used across Key Learning Areas and students receive feedback from teachers and peers on their work and effort. Teachers ensure reporting is clear, timely and accurate. Information is provided to improve students learning. Teachers use external and internal student assessment data to inform teaching and report learning progress.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to watching your child grow and develop whilst at Glenreagh Public School.
