School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:

Athletics Carnival
Date: Term 1
The athletics carnival is held along with the Orara Valley Learning Community, come along and get involved by volunteering to help run this high energy event.
Swimming Carnival
Date: Term 1
The swimming carnival is held along with the Orara Valley Learning Community, parents are invited to come along to cheer on their children for a fun day in the pool!
Easter Hat Parade
Date: Term 1
We love to create and then show off our masterpieces at the Easter Hat Parade. The community, including the local preschool and daycares, are all invited to join in the fun too.
NAIDOC Week
Date: Term 2
We love to take every opportunity we can to recognize our history, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, NAIDOC week gives us a dedicated time to take this opportunity.
Book Week
Date: Term 3
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students can dress up and take part in a parade. We encourage families to attend and open up the.
Surf Groms
Date: Term 4
Parents are invited to come watch their children take part in Surf Groms where children learn how to be safe in the surf and try their hand at surfing or boarding.
Intensive Swimming
Date: Term 4
Intensive swimming gives children the opportunity to learn the fundamental skill of swimming and water safety. Intensive Swimming is every day for 2 weeks at the end of the year, ready for summer swimming fun!
