NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
Special Religious Education classes occur at Glenreagh Public School on a weekly basis. Approved Special Religious Education provider, Coffs Coast Schools Ministry, in a Combined Christian Arrangement, presents information to students based on the scope and sequence provided by GodSpace. GodSpace is designed to introduce kids to the God of the Bible and the Christian faith. The core beliefs are those common to mainstream Christian denominations. A diverse team of theologically-qualified education specialists have crafted the GodSpace scope and sequence to make it appropriate and accessible for varied situations and different learners.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
Visit the department’s website for more information about religion and ethics.
