Student Representative Council

Glenreagh SRC 2021

'The most significant aspect of an SRC is that they function as a representative organisation for the students.'

What does SRC stand for?

A Student Representative Council(SRC) is a group of students elected by their peers to represent all students in the school. SRCs build connections to school, encourage democratic decision making and make students into stakeholders.

What is the role of the SRC?

  • To give as many students as possible experience in leadership positions.
  • To increase a sense of belonging, responsibility and partnership in students.

How do SRCs provide opportunities for students?

SRCs provide opportunities to integrate the curriculum across all Key Learning Areas. They offer leadership and participation opportunities by asking for input from peers, holding open meetings where all students can personally voice their opinions and by holding special activities or events in which students can participate.

What will it look like?

The representatives are responsible for expressing the views of their class in SRC meetings and for relaying information between the class and the SRC.

The SRC Coordinator is:

Mrs Jodie Hayes
